Golf + Gameday: Play 36 and Still Make Kickoff at Jordan-Hare

August 2026 · 5 min read

The best Auburn football weekends have golf in them. The trick is that a Saturday kickoff eats the whole middle of the day, so the golf has to happen around it — which means Friday afternoon and Saturday at first light.

The Friday

Get everyone into Auburn by two. Play the Short Course at RTJ Grand National, or nine at Indian Pines if you're arriving in pieces. Dinner as a group at the house — Saturday restaurant tables in Auburn on a home weekend are a losing battle.

The Saturday

For a 2:30 or 3:30 kickoff, take the earliest tee time Grand National will give you. Eighteen holes off the first tee at 7 a.m. puts you back at the house by noon with time to shower and get to the stadium. Jordan-Hare is about ten minutes away, and parking near campus tightens up roughly three hours before kickoff.

For a night game, you can genuinely play 36 — Lake in the morning, Links after lunch — and still be in your seat. That's the weekend our golf groups keep repeating.

The Sunday

Coffee on the covered porch, a slow start, and either an early nine or the drive home. Checkout is 10 a.m.; ask us about a later one.

Why a house beats hotel rooms for this

  • Five bedrooms and 4.5 baths — ten people can be tee-time ready at the same time.
  • A chef's kitchen and a covered porch, so Friday and Saturday dinner happen at home.
  • Free parking on-site, ten minutes from Jordan-Hare Stadium.
  • Inside a private golf community, with RTJ Grand National fifteen minutes away.

The Hydrangea House books direct with no service fees. Home-game weekends go first — usually twelve months out.
